Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How much do your workshops cost?

A. It depends on the length and type of workshop. I have a number of workshop examples displayed to give you an idea, however please feel free to phone me to discuss options. All my workshops are flexible and can be tailor made for specific organisational and individual needs, whether based on time, content or ability.

Q. What can we do if we cannot afford your services but would like to hire you?

A. Please call me to discuss funding options.

  • I am happy to work with you to apply for funding
  • Look at including me in your budget for the future, i.e. next financial year

Q. What kind of venue would be suitable for running your workshops?

A. In a perfect world, we need:

  • A spacious environment, indoor or outdoor. If it is outdoor it is better to have some shade.
  • Good lighting and ventilation
  • A floor that is easy to clean, e.g. lino or tiles
  • A sink appropriate for washing brushes & palettes
  • For 8 participants we would require 5+ large tables and 9+ chairs (depending on if any participants have a carer with them)
  • A suitable wash area with hosepipe for screen printing

Q. Do participants need any prior artistic experience?

A. Definitely not!! People often attend my workshops and say they, ”do not have an artistic bone in their body!!” This, by the way, is not possible! Everybody is creative; sometimes they just haven’t found it yet! I have rarely had any participant come out of my workshops without feeling incredibly inspired, creative and proud of the artworks they have achieved.

Q. How many participants do you allow in each workshop?

A. I prefer to stick to approximately 8 participants to ensure individual tuition and guidance, however It depends on the groups abilities and whether I have assistance from any support workers. I have facilitated groups of up to 20 people, however I have had support from at least 2 other workers.

Q. Are your workshops wheel chair accessible?

A. I will always endeavour to ensure that the venue is wheel chair accessible.

Q. Do you cater for people who may experience disability or disadvantage?

A. Absolutely! I am passionate about working with people of ALL ages and abilities and have extensive experience in this area. In all my workshops I incorporate elements of my Diversional Therapy skills to ensure I meet all participants needs. I often have a range of participants with varying artistic abilities in the same workshop. I am sensitive and attentive to everyone's needs; always.

Q. Do people who may experience disability need to bring a support person or carer?

A. Only if they require one-on-one support as I am unable to give this when facilitating a group. All participants needs are provided for as fairly as possible.

Q. What kinds of people do you cater for in your workshops?

A. ALL ages and abilities, including children, young people, mature aged people, women, men, culturally diverse people, people who may experience disability, mental illness and/or disadvantage; people from ALL walks of life.

Q. Do you coordinate and facilitate community based projects?

A. Absolutely! I am very passionate about assisting people to connect creatively with their community and helping to beautify their community. I am also enthusiastic about assisting groups of people to creatively develop projects that they are passionate about promoting, e.g. Mental Health Week, Disability Action Week, Youth Week, etc.
